The Implications of Xi’s Belt and Road Initiative for China and the World Economy

Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, the Belt and Road Initiative (or One Belt, One Road as it is also known) has become the centerpiece of China’s international strategy.  Designed to build an interconnected, integrated Eurasia continent, the BRI has the potential to transform the world economy over the next decade or two. This Roundtable will bring together a distinguished group of experts to explore the strategic thinking behind the BRI and its likely consequences for the economies of Asia and Europe as well as for the United States. The panel will include the following:  Earl Carr, Managing Director, Momentum Advisors; Jonathan Shelon, Managing Director, KraneShares; and Patrick Lawrence, columnist, The Nation.
